Contact an Athlete's Guardians

As a coach, you may need to contact an athlete's guardians directly for individual conversations. Rostered makes guardian contact information easily accessible from the athlete's detail screen.

Finding Guardian Contact Information

  1. Open the Rostered app and tap the Coach tab
  2. Navigate to your team and tap Roster
  3. Tap the athlete whose guardians you want to contact
  4. Scroll to the Guardians section
  5. Tap a guardian's name to view their profile

Guardian Profile Information

When you tap a guardian, you'll see their contact card with:

  • Name - Guardian's full name
  • Photo - Profile photo if available
  • Email - Email address (if provided)
  • Phone - Phone number (if provided)

Contacting a Guardian

    • Copy - Copies the email address to your clipboard

To change your contact preferences:

  1. Go to the Settings tab
  2. Look for contact preferences
  3. Choose your preferred action for email and phone taps

Respecting Contact Boundaries

When contacting guardians directly:

  • Keep it professional - Use direct contact for appropriate coaching matters
  • Respect timing - Be mindful of the time of day
  • Use the right channel - For group announcements, use the push notification feature instead
  • Follow club policies - Your club may have guidelines about coach-guardian communication

Multiple Guardians

Many athletes have multiple guardians listed. Consider:

  • Both guardians may need to be informed for important matters
  • One guardian may be the primary contact for scheduling
  • Check with your club about communication protocols

If Contact Information is Missing

If you don't see email or phone for a guardian:

  • The guardian may not have added this information to their profile
  • Contact your club administrator who may be able to help
  • Use push notifications as an alternative for reaching the family
