Add Private Coaching Notes

Rostered allows coaches to add private notes about athletes. These notes are only visible to you and other coaches of the same teams - guardians and athletes cannot see them.

What Are Coaching Notes For?

Coaching notes are a place to record:

  • Skill observations and progress
  • Training focus areas
  • Position preferences
  • Attendance patterns
  • Any other coaching-relevant information

Since these notes are private, you can be candid in your observations without worrying about athletes or guardians seeing them.

Who Can See Coaching Notes?

Notes are tied to the athlete, not the team. If an athlete moves to a different team, coaches of the new team can see notes from previous coaches.

Best Practices

  • Be professional - Even though notes are private, write as if they might be read by others
  • Be specific - Include dates and context for observations
  • Use titles - Makes it easier to scan and find notes later
  • Pin important info - Keep critical information at the top
  • Update regularly - Notes are most useful when they're current
  • Focus on development - Use notes to track progress and set goals
